    Description

    Vintage Ladies Juliette Hat in black and white straw, with red velvet trimming. Net covers part of face, tabs to tie behind head. Comes with hat pin.
    6.5 inches diameter and 26” circumference on the outside.
    Condition: the netting has tears. The red velvet bow can use a press.
    In 1954, Juliette caps and berets covered more of the head crown and sat slightly further back exposing the new trend for short “Italian” hairstyles. Think Audrey Hepburn in Sabrina. Veils, in a variety of colors and metallics, might hang down just a little. One writer encouraged women to match veils to eyeshadow.
