    Vintage ceramic porcelain Oak Rubber Company GIANT DODO BIRD BALLOON mold   14" tall and 6 1/2" wide from nose to  backside! Great conversion starter as a center piece!
    Back about 20 years ago I was fortunate enough to  purchase a bunch of the Oak Rubber Company ceramic porcelain molds. Long out of business, but up to  the 1950's or so they were the world's largest producer of Balloons. How times have changed- now its all China made, both balloons and molds. I purchased these with the idea that "someday" I would make something with them- I didn't know what,  but at the time it seemed like a good idea. I have both used molds which show the rubber/latex near the base of the mount and new ones  that  do not have the base mount (a rubber gasket and threaded rod and nut to mount on a chassis). The used ones also have  leftover pieces of latex/rubber material near the base.
    This one has the mount but looks like it was never put into service and it is in pristine condition.
    Really neat stuff. I will be listing the molds for the big tubes, punching bags, weather balloons, snakes,  spider legs, airships, gourd shapes, and baseball bat in the near future
    .
