The Makita 40V Max XGT Cordless 6-1/2 in. Plunge Circular Saw Delivers Precise Cutting
The Makita 40V Max XGT Brushless 6-1/2 in. Plunge Circular Saw Kit (GPS01M1J) delivers precise and more accurate cutting when combined with an optional guide rail system (sold separately). The saw and rail system work together to produce accurate cuts with minimal tear-out. The saw combines a powerful Makita-built brushless motor with Automatic Speed Change Technology, which adjusts cutting speed and torque during the cut for optimum performance.
The saw has a variable speed control dial (2,500 - 4,900 RPM), with soft start and an electric brake for added convenience. Constant speed control enables a consistent smooth finish under load. It has a large 2-3/16 in. cutting capacity at 90-degrees and 1-1/2 in. at 48-degrees. It has a bevel capability of -1 degrees to 48 degrees and positive stops at 22.5 degrees and 45 degrees.
For improved efficiency, it is capable of wirelessly starting a connected dust management solution. Auto-start Wireless System (AWS) utilizes Bluetooth technology for wireless communication between the tool and dust extractor (sold separately). When the trigger of the AWS-equipped GPS01Z is engaged, the AWS-equipped dust extractor powers-up. When the trigger is released, the dust extractor powers-down. AWS is intelligent communication that eliminates cords and excessive noise since the dust extractor runs only when the tool is running. An AWS transmitter is needed (sold separately).
XGT is a system of equipment, tools, batteries, and chargers utilizing 40V Max lithium-ion batteries. XGT is engineered to deliver high power to take on high-demand applications, allowing users to completely transition to a cordless job site. XGT is equipped with advanced motor engineering, intelligent digital communication, and superior durability features to outpower, outsmart and outlast the rest.
The 40V Max XGT 4.0Ah Battery is engineered to outlast the competition. XGT Batteries feature an advanced design with an impact-resistant outer case and shock-absorbing inner-liner that are engineered to protect the battery in harsh jobsite environments. XGT Batteries also feature rigid rails with impact-resistant construction to secure the battery to the tool during high-demand applications.
The Makita 40V Max XGT Batteries are equipped with smart technology. The digital communication within XGT Batteries optimizes performance to provide up to 2X longer sustained power under heavy-load applications. The digital communication within XGT Batteries and Chargers (sold separately) actively monitors and protects against overload, over-discharge and overheating. This advanced charging technology helps optimize battery life and deliver a faster charge. The battery reaches a full charge in only 45 minutes or less.

When you put in a return request, Tools Plus will provide you with a Return Merchandise Authorization. Items past the 30-Day return window that have defects due to faulty materials or workmanship and are within the manufacturer’s warranty coverage (please see your owner’s manual for specifics) can be sent to the manufacturer’s service center directly.
You will receive a full refund of the purchase amount after we receive the item back at our warehouse and the return has been processed, provided that the item has not been used, opened, repackaged, missing pieces or defaced. If the item does not return to us in its original condition we shipped it in, you may subject to a partial refund instead of a full refund.
