***This item is not the same as a Derma-Safe knife. Their knife is a very high quality knife, this knife would be a compliment to having a Derma-Safe. We have had customers ask for a small folding survival knife with no backing as they needed the blade to slice through something while maintaining only the blade thickness. This is also much thinner, so this has it place. Please look at comparison picture of this Blue folding knife compared to the Orange Derma Safe.***
